Counsel Jill Mayer Speaks to Swedish Delegation on Racketeering and RICO Laws, Anti-Gang Legislation
February 23, 2024
On February 22nd, Counsel Jill Mayer spoke to a Swedish delegation comprised of members of the Swedish Parliament responsible for justice, policing, and national security as part of a partnership with the New Jersey State Police and the Rutgers University Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience. Swedish Parliament leaders had formed a partnership with the New Jersey State Police in an attempt to learn more about their methods and techniques to combat organized and gang-related crime and gun violence. Their hope is to implement strategies involving Racketeering and RICO laws from the state. Mayer was recruited by the state to speak to the delegation, due to her extensive experience working in the New Jersey office of the Attorney General. Prior to joining Parker McCay, Mayer spent 18 years as a Deputy Attorney General in the Gangs and Organized Crime and Racketeering Bureau, where she prosecuted hundreds of cases involving Racketeering, gang violence, criminal street gangs and RICO legislation. It was an honor for Jill to implement her expertise for such a great project, and we are thrilled to have her on the Parker McCay team!
